Safeguarding policy

Keeping people safe

At CarePlus Healthcare Services, safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. We are committed to protecting adults from abuse, neglect, exploitation and avoidable harm, and to respecting their rights, wishes, dignity, independence and choices.

We take a zero-tolerance approach to abuse and neglect. Our staff are trained to recognise concerns, respond appropriately, record information accurately, and report them without delay. We work in line with the Care Act 2014, relevant safeguarding guidance, and local multi-agency safeguarding arrangements.

.

Our safeguarding approach

  • Listen to people and take concerns seriously
  • Promote Making Safeguarding Personal so that the person’s desired outcomes remain central wherever possible
  • Recruit staff safely and complete appropriate pre-employment checks
  • Provide safeguarding training, supervision and ongoing competency support
  • Maintain clear reporting, escalation and whistleblowing arrangements
  • Work appropriately with local authority safeguarding teams, police, healthcare professionals, commissioners and other agencies
  • Share information lawfully and proportionately when this is necessary to protect someone from harm
  • Review incidents and concerns to identify learning and reduce the risk of recurrence
